Our Journey
The History of Digiloom
From early HTML experiments to a hiatus of cooperative growth, and finally the return of the Loom Pulse era.
1998
The Pre-History
The spark that started it all. Robin gets a job at the Laboratory for Extended Media at UVic. There he writes his very first web application and dives into the world of PHP and MySQL, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for the open web.
2001
The Original Digiloom
Digiloom is officially founded on the principles of providing affordable, robust Open Source solutions for values-aligned clients. The early days were defined by extensive custom PHP applications for clients, including a CMS for the Vancouver International Writers’ Festival. There were also many other Drupal development and community-focused projects.
2014 – 2025
The Hiatus & Growth
Robin places Digiloom on hiatus. During an incredible decade of growth, he co-founded CanTrust Hosting Co-operative and served as CTO of Affinity Bridge, mastering scalable architecture and co-operative business models.
2026
The Return & Loom Pulse
Robin returns to Digiloom, introducing the modern “Loom Pulse” identity. Kicking off with the successful launch of the new Co-op Radio website, Digiloom expands its focus to radio stations, podcasters, educators, and other values-driven organizations.
